Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how EasyQR ("the App") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Android mobile application. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Data Controller

The App is published by Erencan Ertem. For privacy questions or requests, contact: erencanertem@outlook.com.

2. Information We Process

The App may process the following categories of information:

  • Camera input: Used only to scan QR codes and barcodes on your device.
  • Scanned content: QR/barcode content (for example URL, text, Wi-Fi string, contact card, or location payload).
  • History records: Items you scanned and/or used (stored locally on your device).
  • Diagnostic and advertising data: Data processed by third-party SDKs such as Google Mobile Ads, including device and ad identifiers, ad interaction events, and technical telemetry.

We do not require account registration to use the App.

3. Permissions

  • Camera permission: Required to scan codes.
  • Optional integrations: Depending on your action, the App may open external apps (browser, phone dialer, maps, email, messaging apps, system settings). These actions are initiated by you.

4. How We Use Information

  • To scan and parse QR/barcode content.
  • To show scan results and allow copy/share/open actions.
  • To keep scan history on-device for your convenience.
  • To display ads and measure ad performance/fraud prevention through AdMob.
  • To maintain app security, stability, and performance.

5. Local Storage

Scan history is stored locally on your device (for example using AsyncStorage). You can remove history from inside the App. Local data remains on your device unless you delete it, uninstall the App, or clear app data from system settings.

6. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to show ads. AdMob may process device information and ad identifiers to provide and measure ads, prevent fraud, and enforce policy compliance.

Relevant Google policies:

We may show non-personalized or personalized ads depending on region, consent requirements, and platform behavior.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data may be shared only as needed with:

  • Service providers and SDK partners (e.g., Google AdMob) for app monetization and operations.
  • Authorities, where required by applicable law, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
  • Successor entities in case of merger, acquisition, or asset transfer (subject to applicable law).

8. International Transfers

Third-party providers may process data on servers located in countries other than your own. We rely on providers' legal mechanisms and safeguards required by applicable law.

9. Data Retention

  • On-device history is retained until deleted by you or removed by uninstall/clear data.
  • Third-party partners retain data according to their own policies and legal obligations.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights such as access, deletion, objection, restriction, portability, or withdrawal of consent. You can exercise applicable rights by contacting us at the email above.

11. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

12. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

13. Third-Party Links and Apps

The App can open third-party apps or websites based on scanned content and your actions. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.
